There are a few key routines that children are asked to keep up with at home. Spellings are set, and tested, every Monday, so regular practice during the week is important. Children should also practise their times tables in preparation for the weekly Friday test, read at home with an adult as often as possible, and spend a few minutes each day on Times Tables Rockstars. These activities help reinforce learning and build confidence, all logins can be found in their reading diaries.

our topic this term
This term we’re travelling to the icy extremes of Antarctica by exploring Shackleton’s legendary expedition, discovering courage, survival, and the power of teamwork in one of the most extreme places on Earth. We’re also diving into The Nothing to See Here Hotel, using this fun and imaginative story to inspire our English work through reading, writing, and creative thinking. It’s a mix of real-life exploration and brilliant storytelling.
Pe and outdoor learning
On Mondays, children take part in outdoor learning sessions, giving them the chance to explore and learn outside the classroom. To make sure they are comfortable and able to take part fully, children need to come prepared with suitable footwear such as wellies, waterproof clothing, and plenty of warm layers.
On Tuesdays, children take part in gymnastics, and on Wednesdays they have PE with Mr Petros. On both of these days, children should come to school dressed in their PE kit so they are ready to take part comfortably and safely in the lesson.

useful information
Our next class assembly will take place on Wednesday 11th March. We’re really looking forward to sharing our learning, and celebrating the children’s hard work. If you or your child have any questions or worries about the assembly, please don’t hesitate to talk to me—I’m always happy to help. - Miss Wade
