When your child starts at Shipley School, you automatically become part of the parents' committee ‘Friends of Shipley School’ or FOSS for short.  We are a registered charity run by parents and supported by parents/teachers/staff and members of the parish. Our main aim is to support the school and enrich the children’s time within the school by organising fundraisers and extra activities.  Over the years, FOSS has worked together to raise funds to support the school’s extra curricular activities such museum visits and workshops,  they have fundraised for outdoor play equipment such as the trim trail play equipment, an outdoor kitchen, pond and wild area in butterfly garden and garden equipment plus much more. 

​FOSS chairperson, Emilia Moss, organises meetings to discuss future fundraising and events. These informal get-togethers are for ANY parent/Grandparent/family member/Parishioner wishing to help support the school, and are a great chance to make friends and get involved in your children’s schooling. Without help, none of the above would be possible. 

You can do as little or as much as you would like, from making a cake to running a stall at an event, or maybe suggesting an event you would like to organise! Even just your child attending the events supports FOSS, which in turn supports the school. Please come on board and join the committee if you’re passionate about helping out. 

ALL of our children benefit one way or another from money raised, so please, come along to our next meeting and get involved!
