Parents should contact West Sussex Admissions, who co-ordinate admissions to Shipley CE Primary School, including requests for places in established year groups.

West Sussex Admissions

The statutory school age is term following the child’s fifth birthday, which is when the child must be receiving full-time education. Parents still have the right to defer entry.

Our admission number for each year group is 15. A request for admission to a year that is full will be considered by West Sussex County Council Admissions Office, in discussion with the school.

Parents refused the school of their preference also have the right of appeal. If you wish to appeal for a school you have been refused appeal forms can be downloaded from the WSCC website where further information on the appeal process is also available.

We strongly encourage parents to visit our school, when they will have an opportunity to talk with the Headteacher and meet staff and pupils.

Children starting school for the first time are invited to join their class for a number of pre-school visits during the term before the child enters the school.
